PROTOCOL FOR MEMBERSHIP OF THE ASSOCIATION & REGISTER OF
COLON HYDROTHERAPISTS.
There are three categories of paying membership: Probationary,
Full and Associate.
Preamble: At present Colon Hydrotherapy is taught in courses of
short duration as an adjunctive therapy with only the relevant anatomical,
physiological and practical tuition necessary to carry out the therapy
itself. The courses presented do not include wider anatomy and physiology
tuition, the focus is on the digestive system and circulatory system
of the body. The style and techniques vary from different courses
that are available and one should seek to what is appropriate for
them either using a closed system colonic machine or an open system
colonic procedure. The focus is to become a good therapist and not
just a technician. Furthermore, on the premise that practice makes
perfect, experience in the therapy is all-important. There are therefore
three mandatory requirements for membership of all categories.
1) A recognized training course in Colon Hydrotherapy should
have been successfully completed and a pass certificate held. The
course should be registered within Australia to be able to gain
recognition with the Insurance companies and comply with health
department standards.
2) A course of at least two years duration (full or part-time)
in a body-based therapy including in-depth anatomy and physiology
should have been successfully completed and a pass certificate held
along side with their colon hydrotherapy certificate.
3) The premises should reach prescribed standards upon inspection
by the Health Department and nearest Councils. Or out of Sydney
if members are not sure if they meet the requirements a representative
of the A.C.H.A can become available for any assistance in meeting
with the requirements.
• Completion of a recognized course does NOT confer automatic
membership of the A.C.H.A. Membership Committee assesses all applications
for membership.
